Verified USD price for a Base ERC-20: DeFiLlama cross-checked against the deepest on-chain Uniswap/Aerodrome pool. Returns price, spread, staleness, confidence. Refused, not charged, if sources disagree over 2.5% or one is missing. Data only, not investment advice.

Two independent free sources: the DeFiLlama coins API and the deepest on-chain Uniswap v2/v3 or Aerodrome (volatile) pool against WETH or USDC on Base, read at one pinned block over public keyless RPC. WETH legs are converted with the deepest on-chain WETH/USDC pool, so the on-chain number never uses DeFiLlama. No CoinGecko.

Every non-200 has charged: false and is never settled.

422 invalid_params / 400 invalid_params: body fails the schema (checked before the 402).
422 sources_disagree: the two sources differ by more than 2.5% (spread returned, no price).
422 insufficient_sources: DeFiLlama has no fresh price (older than 1 hour), there is no pool, or the deepest pool holds under $10,000 on its quote side.
400 before payment: bad address, the zero/dead address, USDC itself (it is the quote asset), chain other than base.
